What products are VAT exempt?
Products which are purchased for your personal or domestic use may be eligible for VAT relief, such goods include:
- Electrically or mechanically adjustable beds
- Electrically or mechanically chairs
- Electrically or mechanically stair lifts, hoists and lifters
- Sanitary devices
- Building work; ramps, doorways etc
- Low vision aids
- Medical and surgical appliance
- Motor vehicles
- Parts and Accessories
- Repair and maintenance
- Mobility scooters
- Other equipments which are designed solely for use by disabled people will remain eligible for relief

How do I qualify for VAT relief?
According to HM Revenue and Customs, a person is chronically sick or disabled if he/she is a person:
● With a physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities;
● With a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness, such as diabetes;
● Who is terminally ill
If a parent, spouse or guardian acts on behalf of a 'chronically sick or disabled' person, your supply is treated as being made to that 'chronically sick or disabled’'person.

How do I declare that I am eligible for VAT relief?
All the prices in our shop are exclusive of VAT. Most of the products in our store will be marked with "VAT Declaration Applicable". When you see this it means the products can be purchased at a 0% Vat rate.
When ordering online as part of the checkout process, there is a VAT declaration form to fill out. You will need to describe your disability in the box provided and also type your name in the signature field like the one shown below.
Persons qualifying for VAT exemption MUST fill the VAT declaration form provided otherwise, we will have to charge you VAT at the current rate of 20% on your order.
For products which do not show "VAT Declaration Applicable", VAT exemption cannot be claimed by anyone and you will be charged the current rate of VAT.
Why do you need to fill a declaration form out?
The government requires that you complete a VAT Exemption declaration form. If you are in any doubt as to whether you are eligible to receive goods or services zero-rated for VAT you should consult

It may not always be possible for a disabled person to sign a declaration (for example, if the person is a child or unable to write). In such cases, the signature of a parent, guardian, doctor or another responsible person is acceptable on the declaration.
What If you are not eligible for VAT exemption relief
We are obliged to charge you the full 20.0% VAT on the whole of your order. This is automatically added to your order after you have skipped the VAT declaration form at the checkout page or if the product(s) are not VAT exempt.
